Weigh in Friday and Who Are You...Part 1

Well I weighed in this morning at 157. Which is half a pound up from last Friday. Which SUCKS because when I weighed on Wednesday I was 155.5! I knew I shouldn't have indulged in those skittles and that full size crunch bar on Thursday...dang it!

Kim over at That's The Thing About Destiny is doing a 6 part get to know you link up! Since I don't know who all reads this (if anyone...crickets?) I figured on the off chance someone is and they don't know me (or know me well), I'd chime in a sing all my praises ;)

Describe your relationship with your spouse:
Engaged. He is truly the only man (besides my dad) that can knock me down a peg and "handle" me. I'm known to be ornery.  I am so so in love with him. He can always make me laugh, and we just have so much fun together.

4. Just because the cookies at school are 25 cents doesn't mean you need to buy 4 everyday plus a fudge bar.

6. Don't go back to swim practice too soon after getting your tonsils removed. You choke on your uvula at practice.
7. Try to make more friends.
8. Quit flirting with all the waitstaff at the restaurant you hostess at. They're all WAY too old for you.
9. If you're uncomfortable, blame it on Mom and Dad and leave with them.

What are 5 things that make you most happy right now:
1. Trevor
2. My Family

People Who Can't Park and So What Wednesday

I have to preface this story with how I park my car.

I park in the front row along my building under the tree. There are 5 spots. I ALWAYS unless the spots under the bigger tree on the other side of the building are available park in the middle spot, BACKED IN. My dad taught me that at like 15, so I back in to almost every where I park. Throw up my sun shades, lock the door and come back 9 hours later.

I was walking out to my car yesterday and someone backed their big ol Dodge in next to my spot. That's cool, except he was SUPER crooked (a huge pet peeve I have!). Like his rear passenger tire was over the line into my parking spot. So this left me with about 10 inches to open my door and shimmy my way in without letting my door touch his truck (if I hadn't been afraid to scratch/dent my door I'da just thrown it open into his truck).

So after I FINALLY squeeze my big rump into my car, I sit stewing for a good thirty seconds. Then I decide, I'm gonna leave a note. Don't worry it was nice and said "Next time pull forward and try again, Thanks!". I get out of my car place my written napkin note on his windshield and as I'm walking around back to my car I see a guy come out of the building walking in the direction of the truck! My heart SUNK! I literally felt like I got caught with my hand in the cookie jar! I jumped in my car, pulled the sun shades down to the dash so I could see (didn't bother folding them or even taking them off the dash) drove around the corner then out of the parking lot! I finally took my sun shades out of the dash while I was staring out of my rearview mirror waiting to see if he followed me! My heart was pounding and I was shaking! I totally thought I had gotten caught! (I'm all big and bad until I get caught ;) ).

Rest assured I wasn't followed and surprising got my point across quite nicely. When I pulled into work this morning he was backed perfectly into his spot with equal distance between both lines. Thank you very much.

Today I'm linking up with Shannon at Life After I "Dew" for So What Wednesday's.

So What Wednesday
So What....
1. I'm supposed to be training the new girl next week, but just found out I really am going on the conference with my new school to San Antonio....she'll be fine with the videos I made right?! Not like it isn't a 100 step process.

2. That same conference has also cut my packing before move time down from 4 days to 1.

3. I haven't actually worked out in 3 weeks but have also managed to lose about 3 lbs those same 3 weeks.

4. I was supposed to start Jillian Michael's 90 Day Body Revolution on Sunday but now I can't because I'm not gonna be the crazy new teacher that packs weights in her suitcase and wakes her roommate/co-worker up at an ungodly hour to get a workout in before the conference.

5. I totally forgot where I left off with my awesome squat challenge I had been beasting because I haven't worked out in 3 weeks. (But still pretty sure I can pass the pencil test.)

Whatcha gonna do?! Just keep truckin along!

Happy Hump Day!

Weigh In Friday, a Job, and My Wedding Dress!

Ok folks. First things first because I know y'all can't go on with your day till you know how much I weigh...eye roll :)

......................156.5! Whoop! 1.5 pounds down from last Friday!

Now that I am officially with in reach of my first weight loss goal (10 lbs thank you) I get to go get measured for my first reward! Every 10 lbs I get to buy myself something I've worked my rump off (literally) for!

The first 10 lb reward is going to get fitted for some really good running/walking shoes. I have the WORST shin splints, and I have read over and over (from all those awesome ladies on the side of my blog I love to read) that getting fitted for shoes that FIT your feet make all the difference in the world. So that's just what I'm gonna do! And in two and a half more lbs they're mine ALL mine! :)

Ain't that the truth!! God will put you where you belong every time. He truly knows whats best and I gotta say, he was right this time. These last two weeks have been oh so cray cray! Three job interviews, two job offers and one (upcoming) move later, I am so so so happy to be the newest third grade teacher at Smithville Elementary, Go Tigers! I signed my contract today and am feeling so incredibly happy after having a wonderful talk with the Superintendent and being told at least three times by the Assistant Superintendent how excited she was to have me joining the team! I truly felt so welcome!

As hard as it will be to move away from my family, I know that this is what I'm supposed to be doing right now. I know they are happy for me, and not so secretly sad that I'm moving away, but they are so supportive and that means the world to me. We'll just have to make lots of excuses for visits! I'll miss everyone so much, especially getting to watch my niecey-piecey growing up.

And now I definitely have to give a shout out to my one and only! Trevor has been absolutely amazing through this whole process. He has been so incredibly supportive and I could not have done it without him. Not only is he supportive but he is constantly telling me how proud of me he is and that just makes me smile so big. Especially since I have been anything but pleasant lately, maybe I should make him a "Thank you for loving me when I'm a total nutcase and B word" cake. But even more, he is just so willing to jump up, up root his life and move for me AGAIN for the 2nd time in less than a year. That man is honestly my gift from God at least on the days where he's not acting like a butt. So here's hoping that these shops he's going to talk to tomorrow love him as much as I do just not in the same way, that would be totes AWKWARD!

AND ON TO MY GRAND FINALE!!!

My oh-so-gorgeous-doncha-wish-your-girlfriend-was-hot-like-me-check-out-my-little-waist-and-cute-butt wedding dress came in today!! Like TWO months early!!

To which I remembered, I'M NOT READY FOR IT YET!
When we ordered my Dress on May 5th, my chest measured a size 10, my waist a size 8 and my big ol white girl ghetto booty a size 12. So naturally we went with a size 10 and I was gonna work it off. Well...... we still workin. :)

Now I gotta get my shoes and all that jazz so we can go try it on and get those alterations done! Yay for wedding stuff!

Hope everyone has a FAB weekend! I'm gonna try to get Trev a job, found a house, steal my sister for some sissy time (you want in on that Momma?) and go get fitted for my new shoesies!!

Title Make Over

Sorry I've been off the grid for the last week. A LOT has been going on!

First of all let's start with the title make over. I decided that since I'm getting married in five and a half month's that the "Wedding Weight Loss" wasn't really appropriate. After my wedding I still plan on blogging. So instead I changed it to relate more to my entire life, not just what's going on right now. Which believe it or not, the wedding is just a small part!

A very smart woman once told me that the stages of our lives are constantly changing (hence the new blog title). We start as a child and learn that stage, once we've mastered it we go to teenager, young woman, young woman in college learning to be on her own. In my case we move on to young woman back home with mom and dad, then engaged, then trying to become an independent engaged woman, then married. Basically by the time we master one stage in life we're pushed into the next. Whatever that may be. Once I'm married, then I'm a wife trying to figure it all out, then hopefully one day a Mother. We never stay in the same stage for long, in our personal or professional life. We all do the best we can to figure it out the best way we know how and master that stage before moving on to the challenge of the next.

Speaking of professional life. I got a job!

Some of you know that I've spent a good part of the last year trying to become a teacher. After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology, my life plans changed (there goes that stage thing again). First it was Physical Therapy, then wanting to be a nurse. Then it was something in the business world because I didn't want to go back to school. Then God knocked on my heart and told me to be a teacher. Now I can't wait to go back to school to get my Master's in Education Administration.

So after finding an Alternative Certification Program to enroll in, I completed all the steps to being able to take my certification exam. I am now Generalist EC-6 certified and getting ready to start my first year as a 3rd grade teacher at Smithville Elementary in Smithville, TX. (Anyone seen Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock and Harry Conick Jr? That town, that elementary school :) )

Let me tell you how nervous and scared I am! First I didn't think I would even get a call for a job for the Fall. Then I had two interviews and two job offers in a week. Both being about two hours from my family, one West of Houston, one East of Houston.  Now I've been hired, I have to sign my contract, find a place to live, Trevor has to find a job and I start my new one all in the incredibly short span of three weeks. Stressful doesn't even begin to cover it. We're excited, nervous, scared, and thrilled all at the same time.

I didn't get any of my workouts in last week because I was driving all of Texas for job interviews (Thanks Houston for not making it easy on me ;) ). Don't get me wrong though, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity! I truly believe this job was a God thing. I never even applied at Smithville. They called me up and said they had my resume from a career fair at A&M I went to back in April. I don't even remember talking to them, or why I would have since they were closer to the Austin area. But they called me asked me to come in and a week later offered me a job. You can't get more of a divine intervention than that. So thank you Lord for the job and the opportunity!

Sorry for the long post. Just so much is weighing on my heart. I felt like I needed a whole blog make over just to get it off my chest.

Don't worry I'm still losing weight! I weighed in at 158.0 on Friday, half a pound down from the week before and a total of 6 lbs gone forever.

There's more tomorrow so stay tuned!

Weigh In Friday

I didn't forget my deal. I know it's weigh in day. :)

...............158.5! Four and a half pounds till my first weight loss reward!

That's a pound and a half down my friends!!

This weeks workouts have been going really well! I LOVE all the lifting, makes my muscles feel all manly ;) without looking manly of course.

Tuesday I had to skip because I forgot about the yucky stuff I had to drink for a dr's appt on Thursday.

So Wednesday between my preps, I did both Tuesday and Wednesday's workout....whewww! 612 calories burned in an hour and 5 minutes of PURE WEIGHT LIFTING!!! I burn just as much doing an hour of walking!

It felt AMAZING!!!

Don't fear the weights! They are amazeballs!
The more muscles you have the more calories you burn at rest...so get to lifting!

Last workout for the week tonight! I couldn't go yesterday so I'm doing it tonight. Now that my procedure is over, hopefully my gym schedule will get back on track. But I am proud to say that regardless of the stuff that came up this week, I did EVERY. SINGLE. WORKOUT. that was on my plan, NO EXCUSES!

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Can't Say I'm Not Dedicated

It is official Ladies and Gents!! You can no longer say that I am not dedicated to my workouts (regardless of how badly I mess up on the weekends/holidays).

I wore two different freaking shoes to they GYM yesterday!!

.........In public.........I got stared at like no body's business. But at least I was there!!! That's more than all you couch potatoes can say Maybe y'all will join me sometime!

This unfortunately is not the first time I have worn two different shoes in public......this year.

So here's my routine so you'll understand a little better why I do the wacky things I do.

I get ready for work, pack my gym bag, go to work, go to Trevor's house, make dinner, get some cuddle time, go to they gym, then go home and do it all over again the next day. (Yes I remembered to pack matching shoes this morning thank you very much)

There you have it, I have a very busy life and apparently do not have time to check and make sure I have matching shoes. Ain't no body got time fo dat! As someone pointed out to me, at least I had one for each foot.......and guess what, I had a matching pair just like them at home. BAM!

Trevor of course didn't go to the gym with me due to the fact that he was being lazy didn't want to be embarrassed by his ridiculously mismatched fiance'. Totes his loss. I looked hot ;) why else do you think everyone was checkin' me out...oww owwwww

So on to my review of Jamie Eason's 12 Week Live Fit program. Day 1 went AWESOME!! I legit thought my arms would fall off at the end. I burned 225 calories in 26 minutes of PURE weight lifting, NO cardio!

Here's what I did:

Since I have awful shoulders from being a butterflier all those years I have a rough time doing those manly push up's on my feet. So I alternated knees and feet so I would be working harder than usual and pushing myself to get better. This has worked for me in the past. Just have to retrain and strengthen those shoulders.

This was TOUGH, but felt soooooo good!

Tonight is Back and Biceps. Hope I can lift my arms tomorrow!

Post 4 day weekend

Well here we are. Back at work again after a glorious 4 days off. I literally need toothpicks to hold my eye lids open right now :) Definitely doesn't help that the weather is crappy which means I wanna snuggle down with my man, watch movies and nap all day!

Anyone else get super off track with their healthy habits this weekend?.........NO?...........just me??........You know you all sucked it up as bad as I did you just don't want to admit it good for y'all, what an accomplishment!

How was everyone's 4th? Ours was fabulous. We relaxed, watched 3 movies, got chili's take out, then crawled up on the roof to watch fireworks. Trev had to work Friday, which means I did nothing all day except lay in my PJ's and watched tv till I went to have lunch with him.

We had an awesome date night Friday though. Casa Ole' for dinner judge me all you want, it was freakin de-lish, then we went bowling! That was actually the first time we'd ever gone bowling together and I am happy to announce we both suck haha. The only game we are super competitive about is air hockey. I did kick his butt our second game of bowling though with my THREE strikes! He wanted to find an air hockey table to settle the score he took it pretty well! I guess you can't REALLY say I kicked butt and took names, my total score from both games was only 160 HA!

Saturday we went to the Splash Pad with my niece, sister and bro-in-law. My niece was the only one who could successfully get Trevor in the water. "Nah nah nah...splash splash" This was her pointing at him saying "nah nah nah" (that's how she gets your attention) then pats the water beside her (she is fabulous at guiding people where she wants them to be). It was definitely adorable!
How precious is that face?! Mine of course, not the baby's :)

We went to our first cake tasting, and DANG every time we go do wedding stuff it feels more and more real I felt like a total grown up.
Either the cake I want was super easy or this chick totes got what I was going for because she drew it up no problem and it was PERFECT! And I seriously cannot wait to see Trevor's grooms cake! It's gonna be waaaaaay awesome! We couldn't do the 3D cake cause that crap cost more than my 4 tiered wedding cake was just a little out of our budget, but we did come up with an alternative that is going to be dope.....bet! (Trevor you better get that reference ;) )

Sunday was lazy, but I did come up with a great new workout plan. Yes I know I change ideas as often as my underwear...whatevs.

So about 8 weeks ago I signed up for Jamie Eason's 12 week Live Fit program on bodybuilding.com you can find it here if you're interested.
Jamie Eason is an AMAZING trainer and has a bod to die for! Basically the program is 100% written out for you. No trying to figure out what to do on your own! Now I know I'll get better results if I follow her nutrition plan as well, but I HATE eggs, egg whites and all egg family stuff. So I'm really going to focus on just smaller portion sizes and trying to eat clean at least 60% of the time.

I start week 1 today and I'm pretty pumped for it. Trevor is also gonna do it with me! Which I'm stoked about since I threatened to freeze his gym membership if he didn't start going he wants to get back in the gym too!

In other news, I heard on the radio today that crop tops are back in style....Um no. The 90's are gone people, let it go. The only people I want to see in a crop top are people like Jamie Eason, and even then I'd be too jealous over her tight abs, it's just not nice to flaunt what others don't have :)
(Unless I've got it, then honey I'm flauntin' it!)

So remember folks:

Weigh in Friday Y'all!

So in order for me to keep up my weight loss/healthy lifestyle momentum, I'm going to publicly advertise my weight on Friday's :).....don't make fun of me!

Well I got on the scale this morning....160.......yikes!! And I would love to know how in the H E double hockey sticks that happened?!?! Yesterday afternoon I was 158.5!!

**Deep Breath** moving on. Weight fluctuates, I'll get over it. But I am 4 lbs down from when I first started a couple of weeks ago which was the heaviest I've ever been. Y'all that was 45 lbs heavier than the day I graduated HIGH SCHOOL!!! Do you know how much 45 lbs is on a 5'2" short stuff?!?! Like a fifth grader attached to my butt, thighs and arms!! GET OFF!!!!!! :)

Well I have readjusted my goals as of the other day! I've been dog sitting for some friends, and decided to turn that into my walks for the day! It's a round trip total of 3.3 miles and takes me just under an hour.

But my new goal (now that I know I can walk 3 miles at a time) is to walk 50 miles a month! That's only 12.5 miles a week! I can totes do that!

Holla! Check me out being all healthy and what not! And did you seeee that it helps improve balance?! Y'all know girlfriend has no balance, I trip going up AND down the stairs, just over my own two feet. Home girl is CLUMSY! But apparently walking helps that!

So here's the map view of my awesome walk from Wednesday and Thursday! Yesterday's walk and my squat challenge burned 625 calories, and Wednesday was 685 calories!

3.3 miles in 55 minutes. Not a great time, but still good for me! and with the calorie burn I'm getting, I feel great about it! Walking really does wonders for my mood too! (Just ask my honey ;) )

Happy 4th, Happy Friday, now off to the gym!

Doubled Up

Yesterday was a pretty cool day workout wise. I went during lunch to do the workout I had planned for Monday, since I took a lazy day Monday and didn't do crap. I also felt like crap and totally had that "in trouble" feeling for skipping out. Thus the two-a-day yesterday.

But I guess it paid off because in a total of an hour and 26 minutes (all together) yesterday I burned 857 calories. Still not enough, but I'm getting there. Need to be burning at least 500 a day.

So if you're in need of some new workout ideas, here's what I did yesterday.

  • Seated Cable Row 30 lbs
  • Left Arm Dumbbell row 10 lbs
  • Right Arm Dumbbell row 10 lbs
  • Hyperextensions, 25 lb weight plate

  • Upright Barbell Row 20lbs
  • Side Lateral Raise 5lbs
  • Pec Fly with Skull Crusher 10lbs
  • Front Raise 5lbs
  • Bent Over Rear Lateral Raises 5lbs
  • Kettle Bell Swing 15 lb

Legs:
2x25 reps
  • Heel Pulse
  • Single Leg Raise
  • Standing Toe Touches

Hopefully I make myself workout tonight. It's been a rough day, or days lately...

Workin 9-5 what a way to make a livin'

Oh Monday we meet again. I was sleeping so good too! Oh well only a 3 day work week this week!

So I accomplished a goal yesterday! When I walked my new lake route on Saturday my goal was to beat my time each time I walked. Well I DID IT!

Sunday was supposed to be my rest day, but I was itching for a good walk. I figured, hey why fight it?!

Ya baby!!! Beat my mile pace by 12 seconds from Saturday! Pretty stinking pumped about that! After I got home, I did day 6 of my 200/30 day squat challenge.
We are finally at the point where my legs and bum aren't on FIRE everyday. In fact I'm not even sore hardly feeling it. :)

Total burn for Sunday. I'd say that's pretty stinking good for just walking and doing 50 squats!

And yay!! This morning I was waiting for the elevators at work and there is this giant mirror in front of them that I check myself out in every morning totally ignore while waiting. Well this morning I totes noticed my knee fat is slimming down!!

My legs looked skinnier!! YAYAYAYAY!!!! Doin' a happy dance this morning. In fact, I actually did one in the elevator but then remember the back and sides of the elevator are glass and didn't want people stealing my dance moves making fun of me.

FOR REALS!!!
Dude you chicks that walk into the gym with perfect make up and fixed hair and walk out looking the same totes didn't do crap in there! I'm in there 10 minutes and am sweatin' worse than a you know what in a you know where!

And that whole pinterest crap on "how to fix your hair without washing after a workout" is super dumb. If you don't have to wash your hair you didn't work hard enough! What's the point of even going?!

When I was at the gym Friday this little chick was all dolled up and had on her cute hat and just kinda stood around lifting a weight every once in a while. While I'm over here just red faced and drenched...it's cool though I like to shower every day ;)

Happy Monday!

All Smiles

I just love that picture! It makes me laugh every time! Hope everyone else is enjoying their Saturday as much as I am! Fast 6 was AMAZEBALLS!!!!

So yesterday's workout went pretty well! I was afraid I wasn't gonna make myself go to the gym, but when my boss let us leave at 3:30 I got a huge burst of energy and thought to myself "Let's do this!" I hit the gym and there was hardly anyone there! Which was totes awesome because I hate going to the free weights section when all those muscle heads are there. Definitely makes me feel super inadequate and like they're all judging me. I'm all like "What are you still doin' here muscle man...you're done!"

Anyway, I've been doing a bunch of research lately on weight training and what works best. I've really gotten into the Tabata training. Has anyone ever heard of that? Basically its doing a group of exercises like 4 or 5 in intervals and then moving on to the next groups then repeat. But its 20 secs doing the exercise 10 secs off. It's a great way to keep your muscles burning and really gets you a great workout because you are basically moving non stop for those two to three minutes even when you aren't performing the reps because your switching your weights out.

This was from my workout Friday which consisted of 13 minutes walking/running on the treadmill and the rest of the time lifting weights.
My weight workout looked like this:

Total Arms:
20 secs on, 10 secs rest, 3 x through resting 2 mins between rounds
Seated Shoulder Press - 10lb dumbbells
Tricep Kick Back R - 8 lb
Tricep Kick Back L - 8 lb
Lateral Raises - 5 lb
One Arm Row R - 10 lb
One Arm Row L - 10 lb
Front Raises - 5 lb
Reverse Fly - 5 lb
Upright Row - 10 lb
Twisting Hammer Curls - 10 lb
Skull Crushers - 15lb (just one dumbbell not both)
Arm Circles - 3 lb

OOOOOOOOO it burned so good! I downloaded an interval timer app on my phone, set it to 10 secs rest, 20 secs work. The 10 secs gave me just enough time to switch weights or positions and get back to work!

This awesome calorie burn was from this morning! Woke up and started my day with a 2 mile walk. My time was a little slower than last time. But my goal is to beat my time every time I walk around the lake.
Not a bad time/pace for a newbie. I went back to the house and started my kickboxing session with my girl Jillian. But I could only get about 11 out of the 20 minutes done, I was SOOOO tired and still had my 75 squats to do (I'm doing an awesome 200/30 day squats challenge). I needed to have read this first:

So this squat challenge is pretty awesome. I've done one before but it was all regular squats. This one made way more sense to me because it is 5 different types of squats and that will help keep your body guessing. The 5 are: narrow squats, narrow squat with booty kick, regular squat, regular squat with side leg lift, and sumo squat. If you interested in doing it yourself you can find it here! Trust me it works! Super sore at first, but it's definitely getting better and going to be totally worth it!

Until next time!

It's Friday Friday, Gotta Get Down on Friday!!!

SOOOOOOOOOO glad it's Friday!! I'm definitely a workin' for the weekend kinda gal. It has been a long week.

But my honey and I have plans to go see Fast 6 tomorrow and then I would LOVE to hit up the jewelry store to see about having my wedding bands made (mmmhhmmm Trevor I know your reading this, hint hint, nudge nudge :) )

Well yesterday wasn't the best diet or exercise wise. I had Ghenghis Grill for lunch which we all know is loaded with sodium. Then had a nice big bowl of ice cream for dessert. But I thought no big deal I'll just work it off tonight. Then I remembered :
But  girl can try right???? Well not really but whatevs. So I get started with my workout, it was a light day, and about 15 minutes into it, my HRM quits reading my HR. I didn't get the strap wet enough to make a good connection. So i fiddled with that for a good 8 minutes then picked it up and did round two.

All in all I only burned 210 calories. Which isn't great but, at least I got something done right?
All I can do now, is get back to it tonight and get a better workout in. I have a much better one planned for today, so I'll probably readjust yesterdays the next time I do it and add more to it.

It's a learning process. And it's only been 3 consecutive days of working out. I'm trying and I'm moving and that's really all I can ask of myself.

Am I disappointed? Heck ya, I wanted a bigger calorie burn! But I got something done, I didn't just sit on my butt then go to bed.

So I'll call that a WIN! Kick @$$ Chels: 1 - Lazy @$$ Chels: 0

Happy Friday!

You don't have to go fast, you just have to go

So yesterday I got a wild hair up my butt to go for a walk after work! I texted the honey and he wasn't interested (he works outside all day, duh he didn't want to go back in the heat!). So I told him I was heading home at 8 so I could go for a walk around the neighborhood before it got too dark.

Now let me preface this with I did not have that in my workout plan. Yesterday was just supposed to be a quick kickboxing session with my gal pal Jillian Michaels and some squats. But I got the urge to walk so I thought why fight it.
The start and finish are at the same spot
Wasn't really sure how to pace myself but I felt like I did pretty good for it being my first time, just a little under 4mph pace. I would have liked to get more in but it was starting to get dark and I still had to get some kickboxing done. The walk felt great though! All the right muscles were burning!

So over all, 603 calories burned in just under 50 min! I'll take that as some major progress! I stayed under my calorie limit (which is 1600) by 184, and that included a cup of Blue Bell Dutch Chocolate :) After adding in my exercise for the day I was pretty pumped to see that MyFitnessPal suggested that if everyday were like yesterday I would be on track to lose 11 lbs in 5 weeks! Now I'm a realistic person Jack, so I know I'm not going to burn 600 calories everyday for the next 5 weeks or eat under my calories. But the thought of it being possible is super exciting for me!

After I got done working out I iced my shins (helps with my shin splints), I had made a homemade ice bag that you can mold even after frozen (3 parts water to 1 part rubbing alcohol). Anyways Momma told me to put a towel between my skin and the ice pack or I would burn my skin. Of course I didn't listen because I am 23 and all knowing ;) but really though I thought with my years of high school icing experience (you know those huge bags of ice they saran wrap to your shoulders and knees to look super awkward walking around the halls?) I would be fine. Turns out alcohol and water freezes at a lower temp than plain water, thank you chemistry. So I get up stairs and notice my skin kinda hurts. Well what do you know I freakin burned my skin just like Momma said I would....yes Mom you were right (if you're reading this). I had welts on my shins that were like burning, they looked like hives minus the itch add the burn.

Awesome...well I don't have to be hit up side the head more than once to learn a lesson, next time I'll use a towel.
