Weigh in Friday and Who Are You...Part 1

Well I weighed in this morning at 157. Which is half a pound up from last Friday. Which SUCKS because when I weighed on Wednesday I was 155.5! I knew I shouldn't have indulged in those skittles and that full size crunch bar on Thursday...dang it!

Kim over at That's The Thing About Destiny is doing a 6 part get to know you link up! Since I don't know who all reads this (if anyone...crickets?) I figured on the off chance someone is and they don't know me (or know me well), I'd chime in a sing all my praises ;)

People Who Can't Park and So What Wednesday

I have to preface this story with how I park my car.

I park in the front row along my building under the tree. There are 5 spots. I ALWAYS unless the spots under the bigger tree on the other side of the building are available park in the middle spot, BACKED IN. My dad taught me that at like 15, so I back in to almost every where I park. Throw up my sun shades, lock the door and come back 9 hours later.

I was walking out to my car yesterday and someone backed their big ol Dodge in next to my spot. That's cool, except he was SUPER crooked (a huge pet peeve I have!). Like his rear passenger tire was over the line into my parking spot. So this left me with about 10 inches to open my door and shimmy my way in without letting my door touch his truck (if I hadn't been afraid to scratch/dent my door I'da just thrown it open into his truck).

So after I FINALLY squeeze my big rump into my car, I sit stewing for a good thirty seconds. Then I decide, I'm gonna leave a note. Don't worry it was nice and said "Next time pull forward and try again, Thanks!". I get out of my car place my written napkin note on his windshield and as I'm walking around back to my car I see a guy come out of the building walking in the direction of the truck! My heart SUNK! I literally felt like I got caught with my hand in the cookie jar! I jumped in my car, pulled the sun shades down to the dash so I could see (didn't bother folding them or even taking them off the dash) drove around the corner then out of the parking lot! I finally took my sun shades out of the dash while I was staring out of my rearview mirror waiting to see if he followed me! My heart was pounding and I was shaking! I totally thought I had gotten caught! (I'm all big and bad until I get caught ;) ).

Rest assured I wasn't followed and surprising got my point across quite nicely. When I pulled into work this morning he was backed perfectly into his spot with equal distance between both lines. Thank you very much.

Today I'm linking up with Shannon at Life After I "Dew" for So What Wednesday's.

So What Wednesday
So What....
1. I'm supposed to be training the new girl next week, but just found out I really am going on the conference with my new school to San Antonio....she'll be fine with the videos I made right?! Not like it isn't a 100 step process.

2. That same conference has also cut my packing before move time down from 4 days to 1.

3. I haven't actually worked out in 3 weeks but have also managed to lose about 3 lbs those same 3 weeks.

4. I was supposed to start Jillian Michael's 90 Day Body Revolution on Sunday but now I can't because I'm not gonna be the crazy new teacher that packs weights in her suitcase and wakes her roommate/co-worker up at an ungodly hour to get a workout in before the conference.

5. I totally forgot where I left off with my awesome squat challenge I had been beasting because I haven't worked out in 3 weeks. (But still pretty sure I can pass the pencil test.)

Whatcha gonna do?! Just keep truckin along!

Happy Hump Day!

Weigh In Friday, a Job, and My Wedding Dress!

Ok folks. First things first because I know y'all can't go on with your day till you know how much I weigh...eye roll :)

......................156.5! Whoop! 1.5 pounds down from last Friday!

Now that I am officially with in reach of my first weight loss goal (10 lbs thank you) I get to go get measured for my first reward! Every 10 lbs I get to buy myself something I've worked my rump off (literally) for!

The first 10 lb reward is going to get fitted for some really good running/walking shoes. I have the WORST shin splints, and I have read over and over (from all those awesome ladies on the side of my blog I love to read) that getting fitted for shoes that FIT your feet make all the difference in the world. So that's just what I'm gonna do! And in two and a half more lbs they're mine ALL mine! :)

Ain't that the truth!! God will put you where you belong every time. He truly knows whats best and I gotta say, he was right this time. These last two weeks have been oh so cray cray! Three job interviews, two job offers and one (upcoming) move later, I am so so so happy to be the newest third grade teacher at Smithville Elementary, Go Tigers! I signed my contract today and am feeling so incredibly happy after having a wonderful talk with the Superintendent and being told at least three times by the Assistant Superintendent how excited she was to have me joining the team! I truly felt so welcome!

As hard as it will be to move away from my family, I know that this is what I'm supposed to be doing right now. I know they are happy for me, and not so secretly sad that I'm moving away, but they are so supportive and that means the world to me. We'll just have to make lots of excuses for visits! I'll miss everyone so much, especially getting to watch my niecey-piecey growing up.

And now I definitely have to give a shout out to my one and only! Trevor has been absolutely amazing through this whole process. He has been so incredibly supportive and I could not have done it without him. Not only is he supportive but he is constantly telling me how proud of me he is and that just makes me smile so big. Especially since I have been anything but pleasant lately, maybe I should make him a "Thank you for loving me when I'm a total nutcase and B word" cake. But even more, he is just so willing to jump up, up root his life and move for me AGAIN for the 2nd time in less than a year. That man is honestly my gift from God at least on the days where he's not acting like a butt. So here's hoping that these shops he's going to talk to tomorrow love him as much as I do just not in the same way, that would be totes AWKWARD!

AND ON TO MY GRAND FINALE!!!

My oh-so-gorgeous-doncha-wish-your-girlfriend-was-hot-like-me-check-out-my-little-waist-and-cute-butt wedding dress came in today!! Like TWO months early!!

To which I remembered, I'M NOT READY FOR IT YET!
When we ordered my Dress on May 5th, my chest measured a size 10, my waist a size 8 and my big ol white girl ghetto booty a size 12. So naturally we went with a size 10 and I was gonna work it off. Well...... we still workin. :)

Now I gotta get my shoes and all that jazz so we can go try it on and get those alterations done! Yay for wedding stuff!

Hope everyone has a FAB weekend! I'm gonna try to get Trev a job, found a house, steal my sister for some sissy time (you want in on that Momma?) and go get fitted for my new shoesies!!

Title Make Over

Sorry I've been off the grid for the last week. A LOT has been going on!

First of all let's start with the title make over. I decided that since I'm getting married in five and a half month's that the "Wedding Weight Loss" wasn't really appropriate. After my wedding I still plan on blogging. So instead I changed it to relate more to my entire life, not just what's going on right now. Which believe it or not, the wedding is just a small part!

A very smart woman once told me that the stages of our lives are constantly changing (hence the new blog title). We start as a child and learn that stage, once we've mastered it we go to teenager, young woman, young woman in college learning to be on her own. In my case we move on to young woman back home with mom and dad, then engaged, then trying to become an independent engaged woman, then married. Basically by the time we master one stage in life we're pushed into the next. Whatever that may be. Once I'm married, then I'm a wife trying to figure it all out, then hopefully one day a Mother. We never stay in the same stage for long, in our personal or professional life. We all do the best we can to figure it out the best way we know how and master that stage before moving on to the challenge of the next.

Speaking of professional life. I got a job!

Some of you know that I've spent a good part of the last year trying to become a teacher. After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology, my life plans changed (there goes that stage thing again). First it was Physical Therapy, then wanting to be a nurse. Then it was something in the business world because I didn't want to go back to school. Then God knocked on my heart and told me to be a teacher. Now I can't wait to go back to school to get my Master's in Education Administration.

So after finding an Alternative Certification Program to enroll in, I completed all the steps to being able to take my certification exam. I am now Generalist EC-6 certified and getting ready to start my first year as a 3rd grade teacher at Smithville Elementary in Smithville, TX. (Anyone seen Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock and Harry Conick Jr? That town, that elementary school :) )

Let me tell you how nervous and scared I am! First I didn't think I would even get a call for a job for the Fall. Then I had two interviews and two job offers in a week. Both being about two hours from my family, one West of Houston, one East of Houston.  Now I've been hired, I have to sign my contract, find a place to live, Trevor has to find a job and I start my new one all in the incredibly short span of three weeks. Stressful doesn't even begin to cover it. We're excited, nervous, scared, and thrilled all at the same time.

I didn't get any of my workouts in last week because I was driving all of Texas for job interviews (Thanks Houston for not making it easy on me ;) ). Don't get me wrong though, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity! I truly believe this job was a God thing. I never even applied at Smithville. They called me up and said they had my resume from a career fair at A&M I went to back in April. I don't even remember talking to them, or why I would have since they were closer to the Austin area. But they called me asked me to come in and a week later offered me a job. You can't get more of a divine intervention than that. So thank you Lord for the job and the opportunity!

Sorry for the long post. Just so much is weighing on my heart. I felt like I needed a whole blog make over just to get it off my chest.

Don't worry I'm still losing weight! I weighed in at 158.0 on Friday, half a pound down from the week before and a total of 6 lbs gone forever.

There's more tomorrow so stay tuned!

Weigh In Friday

I didn't forget my deal. I know it's weigh in day. :)

...............158.5! Four and a half pounds till my first weight loss reward!

That's a pound and a half down my friends!!

This weeks workouts have been going really well! I LOVE all the lifting, makes my muscles feel all manly ;) without looking manly of course.

Tuesday I had to skip because I forgot about the yucky stuff I had to drink for a dr's appt on Thursday.

So Wednesday between my preps, I did both Tuesday and Wednesday's workout....whewww! 612 calories burned in an hour and 5 minutes of PURE WEIGHT LIFTING!!! I burn just as much doing an hour of walking!

It felt AMAZING!!!

Don't fear the weights! They are amazeballs!
The more muscles you have the more calories you burn at rest...so get to lifting!

Last workout for the week tonight! I couldn't go yesterday so I'm doing it tonight. Now that my procedure is over, hopefully my gym schedule will get back on track. But I am proud to say that regardless of the stuff that came up this week, I did EVERY. SINGLE. WORKOUT. that was on my plan, NO EXCUSES!

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Can't Say I'm Not Dedicated

It is official Ladies and Gents!! You can no longer say that I am not dedicated to my workouts (regardless of how badly I mess up on the weekends/holidays).

I wore two different freaking shoes to they GYM yesterday!!

.........In public.........I got stared at like no body's business. But at least I was there!!! That's more than all you couch potatoes can say Maybe y'all will join me sometime!

This unfortunately is not the first time I have worn two different shoes in public......this year.

So here's my routine so you'll understand a little better why I do the wacky things I do.

I get ready for work, pack my gym bag, go to work, go to Trevor's house, make dinner, get some cuddle time, go to they gym, then go home and do it all over again the next day. (Yes I remembered to pack matching shoes this morning thank you very much)

There you have it, I have a very busy life and apparently do not have time to check and make sure I have matching shoes. Ain't no body got time fo dat! As someone pointed out to me, at least I had one for each foot.......and guess what, I had a matching pair just like them at home. BAM!

Trevor of course didn't go to the gym with me due to the fact that he was being lazy didn't want to be embarrassed by his ridiculously mismatched fiance'. Totes his loss. I looked hot ;) why else do you think everyone was checkin' me out...oww owwwww

So on to my review of Jamie Eason's 12 Week Live Fit program. Day 1 went AWESOME!! I legit thought my arms would fall off at the end. I burned 225 calories in 26 minutes of PURE weight lifting, NO cardio!

Here's what I did:

Since I have awful shoulders from being a butterflier all those years I have a rough time doing those manly push up's on my feet. So I alternated knees and feet so I would be working harder than usual and pushing myself to get better. This has worked for me in the past. Just have to retrain and strengthen those shoulders.

This was TOUGH, but felt soooooo good!

Tonight is Back and Biceps. Hope I can lift my arms tomorrow!

Post 4 day weekend

Well here we are. Back at work again after a glorious 4 days off. I literally need toothpicks to hold my eye lids open right now :) Definitely doesn't help that the weather is crappy which means I wanna snuggle down with my man, watch movies and nap all day!

Anyone else get super off track with their healthy habits this weekend?.........NO?...........just me??........You know you all sucked it up as bad as I did you just don't want to admit it good for y'all, what an accomplishment!

How was everyone's 4th? Ours was fabulous. We relaxed, watched 3 movies, got chili's take out, then crawled up on the roof to watch fireworks. Trev had to work Friday, which means I did nothing all day except lay in my PJ's and watched tv till I went to have lunch with him.

We had an awesome date night Friday though. Casa Ole' for dinner judge me all you want, it was freakin de-lish, then we went bowling! That was actually the first time we'd ever gone bowling together and I am happy to announce we both suck haha. The only game we are super competitive about is air hockey. I did kick his butt our second game of bowling though with my THREE strikes! He wanted to find an air hockey table to settle the score he took it pretty well! I guess you can't REALLY say I kicked butt and took names, my total score from both games was only 160 HA!

Saturday we went to the Splash Pad with my niece, sister and bro-in-law. My niece was the only one who could successfully get Trevor in the water. "Nah nah nah...splash splash" This was her pointing at him saying "nah nah nah" (that's how she gets your attention) then pats the water beside her (she is fabulous at guiding people where she wants them to be). It was definitely adorable!
How precious is that face?! Mine of course, not the baby's :)

We went to our first cake tasting, and DANG every time we go do wedding stuff it feels more and more real I felt like a total grown up.
Either the cake I want was super easy or this chick totes got what I was going for because she drew it up no problem and it was PERFECT! And I seriously cannot wait to see Trevor's grooms cake! It's gonna be waaaaaay awesome! We couldn't do the 3D cake cause that crap cost more than my 4 tiered wedding cake was just a little out of our budget, but we did come up with an alternative that is going to be dope.....bet! (Trevor you better get that reference ;) )

Sunday was lazy, but I did come up with a great new workout plan. Yes I know I change ideas as often as my underwear...whatevs.

So about 8 weeks ago I signed up for Jamie Eason's 12 week Live Fit program on bodybuilding.com you can find it here if you're interested.
Jamie Eason is an AMAZING trainer and has a bod to die for! Basically the program is 100% written out for you. No trying to figure out what to do on your own! Now I know I'll get better results if I follow her nutrition plan as well, but I HATE eggs, egg whites and all egg family stuff. So I'm really going to focus on just smaller portion sizes and trying to eat clean at least 60% of the time.

I start week 1 today and I'm pretty pumped for it. Trevor is also gonna do it with me! Which I'm stoked about since I threatened to freeze his gym membership if he didn't start going he wants to get back in the gym too!

In other news, I heard on the radio today that crop tops are back in style....Um no. The 90's are gone people, let it go. The only people I want to see in a crop top are people like Jamie Eason, and even then I'd be too jealous over her tight abs, it's just not nice to flaunt what others don't have :)
(Unless I've got it, then honey I'm flauntin' it!)

So remember folks:
